Revitz House, which opened in 1978, is a one of a kind affordable living option for qualifying seniors and part of a 100 year legacy of the original Hebrew Home for the Aged. It has earned the reputation of truly offering person-centered quality care and programs and services that touch many families, and prides itself on being open to everyone in the greater community. Revitz is a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development subsidized independent living facility for low and extremely low-income residents and also includes some Section 8 housing voucher apartments as such the budget was extremely tight. The building is 40 years old and when it was built, many residents were able to maintain activities outside the community. Currently, the average age of the residents is 86 years, and a range of improvements was identified to improve functionality and address life safety concerns.
