The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center | Gaithersburg, MD
An exciting senior living development in the bustling Washington D.C. suburban market, the Carnegie will be a 7-story complex with independent living, assisted living and memory care residences, supporting spaces will include multiple dining venues, wellness amenities, multi-purpose room, that will allow residents to socialize in a safe environment.
The building façade is varied in height, defining an attractive and strong silhouette outline that promotes integration with different neighboring buildings. The use of balconies and recesses, softens the scale and enhances the interest as a residential structure and also providing a connection to the outdoors experience from almost every IL and AL residences.
The entry area provides a strong sense of arrival to the building from a vehicular but more importantly pedestrian scale. Both entrances to the main building functions, include enhanced landscaping, flags, and architectural/decorative concrete walking areas. The upper portion of the buildings has a darker tone material color application that controls the verticality and make it more grounded. The base of the building incorporates light castone and large punched windows to give the building a strong presence from a pedestrian scale standpoint.
The Carnegie will provide a landmark for the city of Gaithersburg. We look forward to the next steps of this momentous project.
